Encyclopedia Bimblesnaff: Snapper

A swimming set of teeth.

Entry: Snapper
Series: Ogum
Origin: Quest
Generation: 2nd
Created: c. 1994

It is never save to swim in the water because of jaws. These jaws. This toothy fish cannot see but has excellent senses and smell. The faintest stroke can be heard, the smallest splash sensed, and even distant flesh tasted. It swims swiftly and head on to its soon-to-be prey, taking off chunks by the mouthful. It doesn't care whether the food is alive or dead as it will wind up one way when it's done feasting.

History:

Snapper is an example of convergent evolution. The monster was originally just called "Piranha", despite looking more like a pike than the actual Amazonian fish and was probably spelled incorrectly. This mockery to my current biological knowledge appeared in all of the Quest games, and possibly a few generic ones. In G4 when designing, redesigning, and fixing crappy creations, I realized that turning the Piranha into what it is believed to be, a set of teeth in the water, would fit a lot better with it. Ironically, I had just drew up plans for such a creature to use in The Board Game and just slapped the two together in the end.
