Squish Pod- Obstacles

The deep Moon dungeons are filled with series of objects and hurtles to trip up Squish. Some of them can hurt you, some help you advance through the level, but most just get in the way. There are two varieties: obstacles that sit on the floor and those that are part of it.

Obstacles

Obstacle

Heavy Block

A large, thick slab of stone. Brick by brick, these build the walls of the many dungeons. It cannot be moved and cannot be crossed. Shots falter against them, except for a few Specials. When confronted, there is a way around them.

Obstacle

Push Block

A lighter brick that can be moved with a shot. The stronger the shot, the further the piece is moved. It can be used for a number of things, whether it be cutting off enemy attack or filling in Pit Falls.

ObstacleObstacle

Energy Field

A wall of force that gets in the way. Basic shots fail against it, but a Special cuts right through it. It only stays down a limited time after. They are inconveniently placed in the way of short cuts or other easy paths. While it can be just annoying, a shot of Nega Energy can corrupt it into being a deadly hazard. When changed red and spiked, it is a deadly instrument that should not be touched. Attack it to bring it back to normal.

ObstacleObstacle

Doorway

A sturdy gate that seals off crucial paths. It is opened through activating a series of switches. These vary in means. it could be lighting up a number of Charge Stations or pressing a number of Submerged Platforms.

Obstacle

Info Bubble

A repository of helpful advice. When you come in contact with it, it reveals a piece of information about the stage that can help complete it. Other times, it gives useful advice.

Floor

ObstacleObstacle

Charge Station

A pad that absorbs and amplifies energy from Shots. A basic attack can power it up into a lethal weapon that damages any foe that walks onto it. Other Specials have a wide degree of affects on them. However, Nega Energy can also have an effect on it. When enough are charged up, then Doorways open.

ObstacleObstacle

Pit Fall

An absence of floor. It cannot be crossed over although shots can still pass with ease. If a Push Block is knocked down one, it becomes a suitable ground for walking over.

ObstacleObstacle

Warp Panel

A teleporter that sends you or anyone that steps onto it away to the next closest pad. Each one connects to the closest available panel, so if one is occupied by a foe or some obstacle, then the next potential location is checked. So, just because one took you to a place, do not expect it to be able to take you back.

Obstacle

Block Generator

An endless reservoir of Push Blocks is housed in this column. It continuously spits out more as they are needed. One block is allowed per generator.

Obstacle

Hole

A variation of the Pit Fall found on Water Stages. Rather than being filled up, any Push Block dumped into it is carried off in the rapids below.

ObstacleObstacle

Underwater Platform

A large device with a simple function. These instruments are attached to the underside of the grated floor in Water Stages. A Push Block has to be coordinated to steer into one of these. When struck, they are activated. A number of things can result, include a shift in the tide's flow to opening Doorways.
